Maiori (Amalfi Coast): Residence-Hotel Due Torri

We have stayed in several different places along the Amalfi Coast, and this hotel, located right along the famous Amalfi Road in the town of Maiori, has consistently been one of our favorites. It offers excellent service, great value (even during the busiest summer months), and a convenient location for exploring the entire coastline.

As a family of four, one of the things we appreciate most is the adjacent residence option, which provides larger, apartment-style accommodations at a very reasonable price. For the best rates, I recommend contacting the hotel directly and requesting a quote, as they often offer better prices than online booking platforms. The apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, giving us the flexibility to prepare some of our own meals and making traveling as a family much easier.

The main difference between the apartments and traditional hotel rooms is that some hotel amenities, such as complimentary access to the rooftop pool and breakfast, are not included. However, these services can be added for an additional fee. Personally, we enjoy having the kitchen and the ability to cook meals at our own pace, so this setup works perfectly for us.

I always request a sea-view apartment, and I highly recommend upgrading to one if available. Waking up to breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the Amalfi Coast is absolutely worth it. The views are especially magical in the evenings—if the nearby restaurant Torre Normanna is hosting an event, you may even have a front-row seat to spectacular fireworks right from your balcony.

The property also offers valet parking for an additional fee, a shuttle service into town, and a fantastic rooftop restaurant, Ristorante Oltremare Maiori, with some of the most beautiful views along the coast. It offers very reasonably priced meals for both lunch and dinner, along with incredible panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast. We have eaten there twice and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and scenery.

Another major reason we continue returning to this hotel is its location. It is within easy walking distance of two of our favorite spots on the Amalfi Coast: Spiaggia Acquachiara, our favorite public beach, and Torre Normanna, our favorite restaurant and beach club. It is also a pleasant walk to the towns of Maiori and Minori, as well as the famous Sentiero dei Limoni (Path of the Lemons). Within a 5-minute walk from the hotel, you can access the public beach of Acquachiara or the Torre Normanna Lido.


The only downside I have found during our stays is the towels. They are more like thin sheets than traditional towels, and I find that they do not absorb water very well and take a long time to dry. Because of this, we always bring our own towels from home. It also does not allow pets, which is inconvenient for us as we love to travel with our dog.


Overall, this hotel remains one of our favorite places to stay on the Amalfi Coast because of its unbeatable combination of location, comfort, value, and family-friendly accommodations. It provides the perfect balance of convenience, beautiful views, and easy access to some of our favorite experiences along the coast.

About Me

Life has taken me on quite the journey—from growing up in the same house, attending the same school, and living in the same city of Bogotá, Colombia for 18 years, to leaping into the unknown by moving abroad for college. That bold decision pushed me far beyond my comfort zone: I had to learn a new language, adapt to a different culture, and build a new life from scratch.

It was during college that I met my husband. After six years of dating, we got married—and the very next day, he joined the U.S. Air Force. That marked another major shift in my life. With his military career, we began moving every few years to new places—often not by choice, but always with an open heart.

We lived in four different U.S. states before receiving an overseas assignment in 2015 to Spain. What was meant to be a two-year stay quickly turned into a life-changing adventure: seven years in Spain, followed by six more in Italy. Along the way, I picked up a third language, fell deeper in love with European culture, and embraced every opportunity to explore new corners of the world.

To date, I’ve lived in four countries—Colombia, the United States, Spain, and Italy—and visited over 40. Through it all, I’ve discovered a deep love for travel, for learning from other cultures, and for seeing the world through my children’s eyes. We have two little adventurers who are just as curious and eager to explore as we are.
