About Me

My sense of adventure started later on in life. I was born and raised in Bogota-Colombia, lived in the same house for 18 years and went to the same school for 12 years. Shortly after graduation, I decided to move to the U.S. to go to college, not a usual move for people like me.  I moved to a different country where I didn’t really know the language, didn’t know anyone or the culture, and this is when the adventure began!  After college, I married an American who joined the US Air Force the day after we got married, and we started moving around every 3 years. Moving around in the military can be very challenging, but soon I learned to love getting to live in different places and meeting new people.

In 2015 we had our first overseas assignment to Madrid, Spain! We were stationed in Spain for a total of 7 years and got to travel to all corners of Spain, Portugal, and to over 25 European countries.  Recently we moved to Naples, Italy, and we are extremely excited to explore as much of Italy as we did in Spain. So far I have lived in 4 different countries and traveled to more than 30 countries. I just love to travel and experience new cultures!

My goal is to share as much as possible about our experiences traveling and living in Europe as a military family.  We have 2 kids that are as adventurous as we are and also enjoy learning about different cultures.  Please feel free to reach out and ask any questions, or leave any feedback.

Happy travels!

About Me

Life has taken me on quite the journey—from growing up in the same house, attending the same school, and living in the same city of Bogotá, Colombia for 18 years, to leaping into the unknown by moving abroad for college. That bold decision pushed me far beyond my comfort zone: I had to learn a new language, adapt to a different culture, and build a new life from scratch.

It was during college that I met my husband. After six years of dating, we got married—and the very next day, he joined the U.S. Air Force. That marked another major shift in my life. With his military career, we began moving every few years to new places—often not by choice, but always with an open heart.

We lived in four different U.S. states before receiving an overseas assignment in 2015 to Spain. What was meant to be a two-year stay quickly turned into a life-changing adventure: seven years in Spain, followed by six more in Italy. Along the way, I picked up a third language, fell deeper in love with European culture, and embraced every opportunity to explore new corners of the world.

To date, I’ve lived in four countries—Colombia, the United States, Spain, and Italy—and visited over 40. Through it all, I’ve discovered a deep love for travel, for learning from other cultures, and for seeing the world through my children’s eyes. We have two little adventurers who are just as curious and eager to explore as we are.

This blog is a space to share our journey—especially what it’s like to live and travel in Europe as a military family. Whether you're planning your next big trip, relocating overseas, or simply dreaming of faraway places, I hope you’ll find inspiration, insight, and encouragement here.

Feel free to reach out with questions or just to say hello—I’d love to connect with you!
